Using the shortcut keys

Throughout the system there are many shortcut keys which can be used to quickly access certain functions:

Key Function
F1 Opens the online Help file from any point in the system.
F2 Collapses an expanded node in the Navigator.
F3 Opens a global search screen, or brings it to the front of your screen if already open.
F4 Opens a local search in the left hand pane of the current window (if applicable) e.g. Employee Details.
F5 Refreshes the current screen.
F6 This is used to toggle (switch) between active sections of a screen, for example in payrun entry to move from pay item entry to costing allocations.
F7 Moves to the left hand pane of the current window.
F8 Used in payrun entry to type the employee number manually rather than selecting them from a list.
F9 This is currently not used.
F10 Moves the cursor to the main menu at the top of the Ready Pay desktop.
Alt+A or Ctrl+A Saves any changes made in the current window.
You can also click apply to save, or if entering a line item, press the up or down arrow on your keyboard to move off the current line.
Esc Cancels any changes made without saving. You can also click cancel changes.
Alt+D In payrun entry, deletes the currently selected pay item. You can also click delete.
Down Arrow In payrun entry, adds a new line item after you click in the last line entered.
Ctrl+Tab Switches between any open windows on the Ready Pay desktop.
